This Friday (December 8th) Jami and I found out that we are officially about 8 weeks pregnant. It always make me laugh to say “we are pregnant.” I played a very important a role in the process for sure, but the reality of the situation is that Jami is pregnant and I’m just scared | excited | nervous. 
From what everyone has told us there is a 97% percent chance of a successful carry if there is a heartbeat at 8 weeks, so we are comfortable letting folks know about the good news! Jami will be due in the middle of July give or take a bit, and we are very excited.
We got an ultrasound on Friday, heard and saw a heartbeat I got a picture. The O.B. said that our baby was about the same size as a gummy bear and in the ultrasound it looked like a little gummy bear as well. So until we decide on a name we are calling it “Gummy.” Since our favorite Gummy color is red I did a little Photoshop work on the picture and colored our little one in red so you have a clue what you are looking at.

Thank you everyone! We’re cautiously optimistic and excited about the prospect of a new little Lorenz.
The past two days I’ve been feeling better (I have been a little nauseous for a while now all day long - so fun!) and I’m looking forward to the middle phase when I’m supposedly going to feel like a rock star.
Thank you for all your well wishes, for some of you maybe it will be a good reason to get out and visit us in Montana next fall!!

Um, “were” is the past tense of “are” and implies that you are no longer pregnant - not good. What you mean is “we are” (which indeed you mention in the body of the post) contracted to “we’re”.
