We Are Pregnant!

This Friday (December 8th) Jami and I found out that we are officially about 8 weeks pregnant. It always make me laugh to say “we are pregnant.” I played a very important a role in the process for sure, but the reality of the situation is that Jami is pregnant and I’m just scared | excited | nervous. :) From what everyone has told us there is a 97% percent chance of a successful carry if there is a heartbeat at 8 weeks, so we are comfortable letting folks know about the good news! Jami will be due in the middle of July give or take a bit, and we are very excited.

We got an ultrasound on Friday, heard and saw a heartbeat I got a picture. The O.B. said that our baby was about the same size as a gummy bear and in the ultrasound it looked like a little gummy bear as well. So until we decide on a name we are calling it “Gummy.” Since our favorite Gummy color is red I did a little Photoshop work on the picture and colored our little one in red so you have a clue what you are looking at.

One Monitor to Rule them All | Dell 3007WFP

I love technology, and I have since I was a little kid. My job at PrintingForLess gives me the opportunity to play with some of the coolest electronic toys out there. From multi-core processors, 15,000 rpm hard drives, multi terabyte disk arrays down to mice, projectors, and monitors I get the pleasure of picking the best tools for the job and then making folks more productive by giving them cool toys. Some days it kinda feels like being Santa Claus.

Today I got the chance today to put a Dell 3007WFP monitor on my desk today and it was a real treat. It is a glorious piece of hardware and is pretty much the coolest piece of technology I have had the pleasure of using. I will only have a few more hours tomorrow to experience 30″ of wide screen computer goodness, but I can imagine how a monitor like this can change the computing experience. For image editing, graphics design, spreadsheets and even pre-press work, this display is a great way to make your time in front of the computer much more pleasant.

The Painting

This is the newest addition to our the inside of our house. Our good friend Jonathan Raney who is obviously an amazing painter, has spent the last few months creating this fantastic rendering of our favorite picture we took while we were on our Honeymoon a few years ago. The town in the painting is Manarola, a beautiful town in the Cinque Terre (the Italian Rivera). Watching the painting progress from pencil drawing to finished piece was a treat, as I have never been involved in the creative process to that extent. Jonathan put his heart and soul into this painting and it shows.October 30th: I’m “bumping” this post just so I can see this amazing piece of work again. Jonathan, thanks so much for your hard work we are thrilled to have a piece of yours in our lives for many years to come!

Search Engine | Ms. Dewey

The other day, a friend of mine turned me on to this interesting new search engine. It’s slow, has pretty accurate results and is rather entertaining. Head on over and give Ms. Dewey a try!

Grid Server | PHP 5

I’ll be upgrading my grid server to Php 5 and reconfiguring my php.ini file over the next few days… I’m sure I’ll screw things up a few times but I hope the end result will be a performance boost!
