I’m happy to announce that version 3.0 of WPG2 has been released. This release includes some pretty major changes, and wouldn’t be possibile without the many hours of work from ozgreg and the other members of the WPG2 team (this includes me). New features include Gallery2 Output as a Wordpress Page (Yay No more wp-gallery2.php file), Lightbox integration and support, widgets, an improved g2image, resized image support, support for Wordpress 2.3 and a whole bunch of other code improvements. Being one of the original founders of this plugin, I’m quite proud to be a member of this team. Who would have thought that the little project ozgreg and I started more than 2 years ago would be one of the most popular wordpress plugins, and see more than 40,000 downloads.

So our web monkey has gotten busy and my developement site is finally back up and running. You can find it here. Here’s some interesting facts I discovered about the name of my development site.
Tsedang is a capital city of Lhoka prefecture in eastern Tibet, and literally means “monkey’s playground”. It is the third largest city in Tibet and monkey’s are still present in the city today. Tibet creation myth tells how, in a cave at the back of a small mountain in Tsedang, a saintly monkey and an ogress gave birth to the Tibetan people. Their early history including the reigns of some 30 semi-mythical kings, and the mild weather and fertile land of the region gestated the great Tibet dynasty. Consider this your history lesson for the day…
Wordpress and Gallery are back up and running and marcnjami.com has a heartbeat again. It is a faint heartbeat but it is alive. I have some other goodies to install and configure and some visual work to do, but things are coming along. We’ll have some meaningful content soon, so check back in a while and you might find something interesting.
